Formulate a research problem

The municipal swimming pool in Nitra has data for one year: for each day, the number of visitors and the maximum daily temperature. A scatter plot (temperature on the x axis, visitors on the y axis, 365 points) shows:

• at temperatures up to about 28 °C, the number of visitors rises with temperature,
• above 30 °C the points fall, and the hottest days have attendance similar to days with 15 °C,
• at every temperature, the weekend points lie clearly higher than the points for working days.

From the chart, formulate a research problem using the template: type of question, whom it is about, variables, question, hypothesis with a direction, what would refute the hypothesis, where you will test it and what you do not know yet.
